| November 29, 2008 | to | November 23, 2009 |
Florence has several works of art known in all over the world and, among these, Donatello’s bronze statue of David must feature prominently. The restored version of the work will be on public display from 29th of November 2008 at the Bargello National Museum, home to the restoration and display of the statue since 1887.
It is thought that the statue of David may have been commissioned by Cosimo de Medici, and the piece represents a slim man, his unripe nudity alludes certainly to the symbolic courage and humility.
